Students will learn how to make modern style akutaq without using measuring utensils. They will learn the history of akutaq, when the berries were gathered and preserved. The students will make their own akutaqs then sample a teaspoon of each other’s akutaqs. They will bring their bowl of akutaq home to share with their families. Grades 5th-12th.
Ingredients provided (Frozen Berries, instant mashed potatoes, sugar, Crisco)
*Must bring a medium/large mixing bowl (about 7 QT)*
