Tiamuna

Iñupiaq for “Future”

Waqaa, thank you for your interest in the Tiamuna Program. We are saddened to announce the Tiamuna Program will not be continuing after August 2025. The opportunities provided by the program for the Tiamuna students over the last four years have brought many wonderful memories for all involved in the program and the staff have enjoyed hearing about the testimonials from our families, especially when accompanied by a photo! We welcome stories and pictures through December from students and families. Quyana Cakneq for your participation and interest in this program. The Alaska Native Heritage Center will be working to identify continued opportunities to support our families in the future. Please follow our social media to get updates about future opportunities to engage with the organization.

What Tiamuna Does

The Tiamuna portal is free for approved families and allows for increased access and utilization of local services. Students use the Tiamuna online portal to select unique services that range from traditional cultural learning practices and academic tutoring to wellness and extracurricular activities, as well as before and after school care.

The Tiamuna portal connects specialized service providers with caregivers and youth in the Anchorage area. Service providers are cultural mentors, coaches, and Elder who offer a variety of services to students through the portal, such as teaching, tutoring and after-school care.
