  • Backpacking Adventure (13 to 15 years)

July 8th -12st

1 day and 1 night spent at our wilderness campus. 4 days and 3 nights spent in the Talkeetna or Chugach Mountains. Pick up and drop off in Anchorage.

Challenge: It is true that backpacking can be difficult.  But it is an incredible way to improve your physical health while boosting your mental well-being.  Spending time in the mountains reduces the stress of modern living and promotes positive thinking, boosts creativity and develops resilience.

Social connections: Hiking with our team is a great way to connect, building new relationships, and learn from each other.  Bonding through backpacking creates friendships that will last a lifetime.

New skills and experiences: Learning to pack efficiently, navigate the landscape, set up camp and cook for a group is rewarding and provides a sense of self-reliance.

Learn: We focus on taking this experience and honing skills that are applicable to all of your life, such as navigation (finding your way in the world), camping (taking care of yourself and your possessions in challenging environments), and cooking (planning and preparing meals for yourself and others).

July 22 – 26

1 day and 1 night spent at our wilderness campus. 4 days and 3 nights spent in the Talkeetna or Chugach Mountains. Pick up and drop off in Anchorage.

Course is for those who have wondered “what happens if I go further than just a day hike?”. It’s for teenagers (ages 16-18) who yearn to challenge themselves, to test their limits in a supportive and empowering environment. Over the course of a week, you’ll gain not just practical skills like meal planning, trek preparation and backcountry navigation, but also invaluable lessons in self-reliance, problem-solving, and teamwork.
